City Borders
The goal of NNFF’s “City Borders” series is to expose viewers to life beyond one’s immediate, familiar urban surroundings. This year’s films focus on ordinary people coping with issues related to migration, generational change, globalization and capitalism. We look at the lives of people in small towns and villages across Asia, from a group of elderly Hakka in a village in China’s Fujian Province to third generation Pakistani immigrants living in Indonesia and from a young Burmese girl living at the Thai-Myanmar Border to a Vietnamese woman who sings in a traditional Taiwanese opera troupe.
