但對Harpreet而言,傳統音樂是養份,不是目的──
她所投入的,是如何透過跨界實驗,即興碰撞出新的聲音。
她手上的小提琴,在劇場空間流竄著噪動不安的古老靈魂,
近年民謠、爵士、舞者、電子音樂知名好手爭相合作的跨媒界獨立藝術家。
國際樂壇最受矚目的新生代印度小提琴手
1980年在挪威出生,自小受西方古典樂,以及啟蒙自音樂家父親的印度古典音樂,兩大音樂系統訓練。2003年自挪威音樂學院畢業後,拜當代西塔琴大師Ustad Ashraf Sharif Khan Poonchwalas以及小提琴大師Dr. L. Subramaniam為師,此後自組同名樂團展開音樂巡迴。她是新生代中最受矚目的印度小提琴手,與當代最優秀的印度樂人合作:Ustad Sharif Khan, Tariq Khan, Sukhvinder Singh Namdari, Shabaz Hossein, Rafaqat Ali Khan。

憑藉優秀的音樂造詣,她於22歳即獲挪威藝術國家理事會頒發藝術家獎,兩年後以藝術總監身份再獲頒樂團獎。Harpreet 不但靈活悠遊於印度古典音樂,更勇於跨界嘗試不同領域──近年與挪威知名的民謠、爵士樂團、舞者、電子音樂合作,在專業古典音樂的紥實基礎上,積極開拓跨媒界的藝術形態,多項藝術實驗計劃獲挪威文化部、挪威音樂家協會、挪威表演藝術基金會傾力支持。
Harpreet Bansal studied Indian classical music during early childhood with her father, Harbhajan S. Bansal. She also trained in Western classical music and entered the Norwegian Academy of Music (NAM) in 1999. After graduating in 2003, Harpreet became a student of the prominent sitar player Ustad Ashraf Sharif Khan Poonchwalas and took numerous lessons with Dr. L. Subramaniam, today's premier Indian violinist. In 2011, she finished her Master's Degree in Performance and Research at NAM.
In 2008, Harpreet formed the Bansal Trio, which has since toured extensively for Concerts Norway under the name Raga Bansal. In 2013, the quintet Bansal band was formed from the trio. The Bansal Trio will be releasing its first CD, “Chandra,” on Jazzland Recordings in September 2015.
