City Borders, also a recurring series for NNFF, focuses on the "local" issues that occur in any community, whether it is an urban district, suburb or an even a village. The featured film in this series puts the spotlight on a Hakka community in Malaysia. In "Memory as Resistance: Grandma Kong Defending her Village," a group of Hakka residents in Kampung band together to save their 100 year old village from being torn down by land developers.
