江明月 JEANETTE KONG
出生於牙買加，9 歲移居加拿大多倫多，祖先為中國廣東東莞客家人，現為獨立製片人和導演。因自身的生活背景，影像題材多聚焦在加勒比海華人的離散與家族故事、南中國海的客家歷史、以及加勒比海沿岸至北美的華人移民。 自小在牙買加京斯敦華人雜貨店生活的童年回憶，促使她拍攝《唐鋪》（The Chiney Shop，2012）及《半》 （Half: The Story of a Chinese-Jamaican Son，2013），紀錄華人在以黑人為主的牙買加的生活及對當地社會文化的影響。2014 年歷時一年拍攝完成作品《尋找羅定朝》(Finding Samuel Lowe: From Harlem to China，2014)，紀錄美國非裔企業家葆拉．麥迪遜 (Paula Madison) 的尋親之旅，影片獲選於各大國際影展中放映。
Born in Jamaica to Hakka Chinese parents, Jeanette KONG’s major work to date has centered on the Caribbean Chinese diaspora. Her films “The Chiney Shop” and ”Half: The Story of a Chinese-Jamaican Son” have screened at several international film festivals and museums including the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival, the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago, and the Penn Museum in Philadelphia. Now a resident and citizen of Canada, Jeanette works as an independent producer and director.

為了拼湊家族歷史的碎片，而展開一趟橫跨美國、加拿大、牙買加、香港和中國的尋親之旅。正步入花甲之年的葆拉·麥迪遜 (Paula Madison)，事業家庭富足美滿，人生應了無遺憾，卻始終有個渴望在心中不斷發芽。母親去世前留下了一個謎團：1933 年，中國客工羅定朝從牙買加搭船去香港，永別他的牙買加情人與兩個混血孩子，他就是葆拉的親生祖父。在近一個世紀的分離後，葆拉決定不顧地域與膚色差異，與兩位哥哥尋找家族中從未謀面的「家人」。在歷史的洪流中，客家人的遷徙流離與大時代下顛沛流離的親情與遺憾，在此片中僅從泛黃照片裡出現的兩父女——羅定朝及羅碧珊身上呈現。
Three African-Americans discover an unknown part of their heritage by searching for clues about their long-lost Chinese grandfather, Samuel Lowe. To fulfill a promise to their mother to connect with her estranged father's people, the children, now middle-aged adults with successful careers, embark on a journey to uncover their ancestral roots.

李文生是牙買加客家混血兒，定居在美國，在子女眼中總是開朗做著菜的他，在鏡頭前坦露他自小與家人分離，被送回中國的經歷，以及如何在長大後決定返回牙買加，重新融入陌生的故鄉。導演江明月透過鏡頭，回顧李文生數十年的過去，道盡牙買加客家人的離散與掙扎，以及他們堅毅守護家庭的信念。
From his native Jamaica to a village in China, the journey of half-black, half-Chinese Vincent Lee began when he was only a young boy. Chinese immigrants to Jamaica in the late 1800 and early 1900s were largely men of Hakka descent from southern China. They often entered into relationships with Jamaican women as did Lee’s father. Vincent, who was sent back to China after his father died prematurely, returns to Jamaica as an adult and attempts to start a new life.

黑白照片中，一層樓的矮小平房，玻璃櫃台前不同面孔的人們交談著，屋前的牙買加式檐廊，村裡的人們吃著東西閒談著。這是牙買加農村的尋常風景，這些由華人經營的「唐鋪」，為牙買加人提供了食物、五金等民生必需品，也逐漸成為他們生活的重要據點。導演江明月以人類學的視角，透過歷史影像與牙買加雷鬼音樂，探究百年前自中國南部落腳於西印度群島的華人，如何透過一間間小店鋪，融入並影響著今日的牙買加社會。
Although the Chinese were commonly perceived as an insular group, "The Chiney Shop" explores the ways in which this ethnic minority contributed to Jamaican society. Drawing from interviews by members of the Jamaican-Chinese community and prominent Jamaicans from the diaspora, and using archival footage and photos, this film attempts to illustrate the deeply-rooted connection between Chinese shopkeepers and Jamaicans not usually portrayed in mainstream media.
