△ 影片介紹 FILM SYNOPSIS
2010年，在台灣生活8年後，導演回到故鄉馬來西亞，首次追問那些自己不曾在場的歷史、釐清曾經禁忌的話題，也間接成為她認識自身、家族記憶乃至國家現況的開端。從513事件出發，意外挖掘出母親那年切身經歷的恐懼。儘管在事過境遷的今天，母女倆對族群關係的態度正在轉變，可看似消逝的恐懼芒刺，仍散落在日常生活裡。「過去的教育只把我教成一個華人，沒看到剝削者和被剝削者其實是不分種族的」，片中導演坦承面對自身，探問那年所謂族群衝突以後，陰影久未散去的原因——人民記得了什麼、遺忘了什麼？在個人與集體的記憶間，國家又扮演了怎樣的角色？
A director looks at how ethnic conflict in Malaysia has affected her and her family. After she moved to study at Taiwan, she felt compelled to make a documentary about the trauma suffered by her mother, who has led a quiet life in their new home. But then the mother slowly starts to recount her experiences in Malaysia.

△ 導演介紹 DIRECTOR
梁友瑄 Usen Leong
畢業於台灣藝術大學電影研究所，大學期間開始投入紀錄片創作，返馬後涉及劇場影像設計丶剪接丶專欄撰稿丶特刊主編等領域，現為新紀元大學學院戲劇與影像系講師。劇評散見於街報、當今大馬等媒體。
After completing studies in film at the National Taiwan University of the Arts, Usen Leong returned to her native Malaysia, working in visual theater design and documentary productions. She currently serves as a full-time lecturer for the drama department at New Era University College, and writes a theater column for several major Malaysian media outlets.
