FILM SYNOPSIS
This documentary tells the story of a workers' uprising at a Taiwanese-owned garment factory in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, in 1975. Fed up with poor pay and conditions, the workers, mostly women, went on strike and occupied the factory. After failed negotiations, the women continued the occupation, enduring violent attacks, and relaunched the factory as cooperative called the "United Labourers Factory." It was eventually taken down by the police, but the event marked a watershed moment for the labour movement in Thailand.
