哥哥過世 48 年後，梁女士從報章得知一處無名義山、「513 逝者墓地」差點被鏟除，想前往探看卻遭丈夫阻撓。2017 年 5 月 13 日一早，她悄悄上山探尋哥哥的墳墓，遇上來墓地悼念亡母的戲班女子，和她談起記憶中的 1969 年。倆人情緒截然不同， 梁女士嘗試放下歷史包袱，澹忘哀傷；戲班女子卻每年風雨不改前來悼母。故事概念源於導演 2009 年在馬來西亞雙溪毛糯與戲班藝人發現這座無名義山，後連續 7 年在清明節和 5 月 13 日到此採訪掃墓家屬，做口述記錄。詩意的長鏡頭貫穿全片，入圍「釜山國際電影節」的「亞洲廣角鏡」和「短片 10 強」競賽單元，是 2017 年唯一受邀參展的大馬作品。

In Malaysia on May 13, 1969, ethnic tensions between Chinese and Malays were behind a riot that led to the deaths of hundreds of people, many of them Chinese. Forty-eight years later, two women who met at a cemetery share a bond over their struggle to cope with the loss of their loved ones.

張吉安 Chong Keat Aun

 

馬來西亞跨領域文化人，集廣播人、製作人、作家、藝術家、鄉音考古工作者等多種身分於一身，在《義山》之後又多了個「導演」職銜。耕耘多時的「鄉音考古」是他最廣為人知的計畫，十數年來走訪老街古鎮，採集老一輩口中的各籍貫方言，及他們唱著的歌謠、打油詩，還有那些南來馬國、紮根成家的故事，成為珍貴的「聲音遺產」。

​

Malaysia native Chong Keat Aun is also known as a broadcaster, producer, writer, visual artist and musician. "The Shadow" is one of his first works as a director. One of his most recent endeavors is the Malaysian Chinese Classic Accents project, a multi-media collection of song, poetry and stories by the Chinese diaspora in Malaysia.
