經歷兩個國家、三種政權、四種母語，他的生命即是一部台灣文學史的縮影。鍾肇政，1925年出生桃園龍潭，1961年發表第一部長篇小說《魯冰花》 ，至今持續耕耘台灣文藝界 。二戰結束，原以日文寫作的一代台灣作家，一時間失去手與口，成為白色恐怖中沈默的夏蟬。1950年代鍾肇政與一群台籍作家發行小型文學刊物「文友通訊」，凝聚了台灣文學的根基。本片以紀實影像呈現鍾肇政的生命軌跡， 延續至今日筆耕不輟的辛勤身影。

A profile of Chung Chao-Cheng, a pioneer in Taiwanese literature. Born in 1925, Chung's writings reflected the often tumultuous changes in Taiwanese society over the past 100 years: the Japanese occupation, the arrival of the Chinese Nationalist government and its subsequent rule, and the country's transition to democracy. He continues to write today.
