Island in Focus: Tai-O ​
 
從2013年起,香港采風電影舉行的「紀錄片大師訓練班」,由中港台幾位紀錄片工作者帶領數十位有志從事紀錄片創作的學員,走入香港的地方社區尋找題材,以八天的時間分組完成紀錄片,訓練班現已邁入第三屆,至今已完成短片集《長洲誌》及《大澳誌》,作品風格特異,描繪出鄉土的人情味和特殊文化風景。


These films were made by aspiring filmmakers in Hong Kong through a program by arts group Visible Record. Since 2013, Visible Record has held an annual master class in documentary film, in which participants have 8 days to complete a short film. These films focus on two island communities in Hong Kong.

1.開舖  Give and Take

大澳有一間永安百貨,老闆永安伯八十一歲,每天早上五點半開舖。雜貨店不但供應了大澳居民的日常需要,同時為永安伯的生活迎來新鮮的人和事。

A local shop in Tai-O, an island in Hong Kong, provides more than just basic necessities.

2.大澳醒來  Morining

凌晨的大澳是怎樣的?等待開出頭班巴士的司機,從大澳外運來的半隻豬,為出海漁民準備早餐的茶餐廳。這是我看到的大澳醒來。

Bus drivers, the truck deliveries of pork, tea-restaurants serving breakfast. This is morning in Tai-O.

3.造船人  Shipwright

旅遊業日漸興旺,造船卻成了夕陽產業。大澳最後的造船人,沿襲父輩的手藝,卻後繼無人。他們只好把與大澳的記憶,伴著啤酒,一起喝進了肚裡。

On Tai-O, the shipbuilding industry has virtually disappeared, as tourism has grown. There is only one shipwright remaining on the island who possesses generations of knowledge of his craft and also holds precious memories of Tai-O.

4.暫泊  While We Stayed in Tai O

一群來自香港和中國各地的工人,因為修繕楊侯古廟而聚集在大澳。他們為了掙錢,隨工地變遷而漂泊於各地。

A group of laborers from Hong Kong and all over China are in Tai-O to help rebuild Yeung Hau Temple. To make a living, they simply go wherever there is work.

5.漁人的願望  I Wish

凌晨時分,當岸上的人在熟睡時,漁人已出海捕魚。擺攤賣魚,賺得酬勞,也賺得人情。海上風平浪靜,一船滿載而歸,似乎足矣,但漁人仍有一個未圓的願望。這個漁人的願望,大抵也是許多香港人的願望。

While most of us are asleep, the fishermen are already heading out to sea. Then they return ashore to sell their catch, chatting with customers. Despite the romance of the sea, these fishermen are full of aspirations, many unfulfilled. What they wish for is actually the same as most Hong Kong-ers.
