島上那條老街，風華已逝，牆圮屋頹，卻仍住著遺忘時間之人：打牌喝茶聊天的阿公、終日洗曬衣物的阿嬤、吹西索米的理髮廳老闆、樂天的退伍老兵，還有住在鬼屋的獨居大姐。他們睡在屋內，生活在屋外，相濡以沫，如斯年月。人與鬼，兩個世界和平共存，安然度過漫長歲月。本片以實驗性的詩意影像，飽含粗糲與野性的內在氣質，描摹島嶼邊緣上的生之輪迴，如一場電影，幕啟又幕落。

 

In a desolate old street where walls have fallen and houses are abandoned, a group of people forgotten by time continue to pass the time. Old men play cards, chat, and drink tea; their wives do the daily laundry. There are also happy retired soldiers; a lonely barber who listens to jazz in his shop; a mother who’s lived a tough life with her handicapped son. For director Huang Ting-fu, the cycle of daily life on the island is like a movie, with a beginning and an end.
